Apple announces Final Cut Pro 2

Apple today announced Final Cut Pro 2, after it quietly began taking orders for the product at the Apple Store earlier this morning (with a 5-day ship time). "Final Cut Pro 2 is Apple's next generation, award-winning video editing, compositing and special effects software that features real-time editing, breakthrough Power Mac G4 performance, and a scalable architecture that allows users to output content into any video format." The software, expected to be available on March 19th, carries the same $1,000 price tag as the original Final Cut Pro, with a $250 upgrade price.
